Character Introduction

They are the commander of the militia stationed at Meryton and his young wife. Mrs. Forster, Harriet, is a young and frivolous woman close to Lydia's age, and the two rapidly become friends. Her invitation for Lydia to accompany her to Brighton directly enables Lydia's elopement. After the flight, Colonel Forster testifies that Wickham was “not a man to be trusted as his reputation suggested” and conveys information about the escape to the Bennet family.

Brighton Episode

  • EVT-032: Mrs. Forster invites Lydia to Brighton. Elizabeth warns her father of the danger, but Mr. Bennet dismisses her, saying Lydia will be safe under Colonel Forster's supervision.
  • EVT-038: Lydia flees with Wickham. In a letter left for Mrs. Forster, she boasts that she will become Mrs. Wickham. Colonel Forster pursues Wickham and reports the situation to the Bennets. He also reveals that Wickham had a poor reputation within the regiment because of gambling debts and immoral conduct.
